World War I
- The most important causes of World War I was Alliances, imperialism, militarism, and nationalism. The event that is the least important that finally pushed the european countries to war was the assassination of the duke of ferdinand.
- Triple Alliance: Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary
- Triple Entente: Russia, France, and Britain ( Later Russia will have a revolution and the United States would join them).
- Germans using unrestricted submarine warfare, the sinking ship of Lusitania, and the Zimmerman Note were events that led the United States into World War I.
- American troops joined the French and British in the summer of 1918. They were fresh and not war-weary and were invaluable in defeating the Germans.
- The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty that ended World War I.
The war will reduce the global influence of Europe, destroying some of its monarchies and empires and diminishing the strength of others. New nations will start to emerge. The United States will march towards isolationism because of the deaths of millions who risked their lives in the war.
